Life Skills

We were able to be a part of the Life Skills Training that was sponsored by the Henderson-Vance Chamber of Commerce. We were able to go to the Vance Granville Early College High School, Northern Vance High School and Southern Vance High School and present the students with tips for preparing for an interview. These students are between the ages of 14-16 and just beginning to consider looking for jobs and we helped them with knowing where to look for jobs, how to dress for success, how to conduct a strong interview and how to present yourself as someone special in order to get a job. We enjoyed our interaction with the students and hope to be allowed to do this again next year!

Small Business Summit

I had the privilege of attending the 6th Annual Small Business Summit at the Lake Gaston Lion's Club in Henrico, NC. There were several speakers there and had a lot of wonderful tips for utilizing the internet to help grow your business as well as how to make more money during the Holidays. Thank you to all the sponsors that made this event possible. I look forward to attending many more events put on by the Lake Gaston Chamber of Commerce.
